Copper prices have been on a roller coaster. The issue seems clear though. China uses 40% of the world's copper. Their growth has slowed from about 11-12% to about 7% or less. Copper cost 50% more two years ago; a huge decline. We work hard to pay the most we can for scrap metal and scrap copper, but when world prices decline like they have, we have no choice but to pay less. Last month copper prices hit a three year low, which is the reason why we are paying less than we were even a month ago.
